HostRead IQ — Privacy Policy

HostRead IQ ("the extension") helps podcasters find sponsors of podcasts on Apple Podcasts and YouTube and surfaces business contacts at those sponsor companies. This policy explains what data the extension handles and how.

Data the extension sends to our servers

When you view a podcast or episode page on Apple Podcasts, or a video or channel page on YouTube, the extension sends the public identifier of that page (such as the podcast ID, episode ID, video ID, or channel URL) to our server. This is used solely to look up or scan that podcast for sponsors — the extension's core feature. We do not collect the content of the pages you visit, and the extension does not run on any other websites.

We do not collect your name, email address, account information, or any other personally identifiable information. Requests to our server are not tied to a user account or profile.

Data stored on your device

The extension stores the following in your browser's local extension storage only:

• Sponsor leads you have scanned (company details and business contact information returned by our server), so you can revisit them in "Your Leads".
• Your remaining free-plan search count.
• Temporary session data used to display scan results.

This data never leaves your device, and is removed when you uninstall the extension.

Third-party services

• Apple iTunes Lookup API — used to resolve podcast episode identifiers from public Apple Podcasts data.
• Hunter (logos.hunter.io) — used to display sponsor company logos.

What we don't do

• We do not sell or rent any data to third parties.
• We do not use data for advertising or transfer it to advertising networks.
• We do not use analytics or tracking scripts in the extension.
• We do not collect browsing activity outside of Apple Podcasts and YouTube pages.

Chrome Web Store limited use

Our use of information received from the extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide and improve the extension's single purpose: finding podcast sponsors and their business contacts.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, note the change in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing.
